What is the difference between highlights and balayage?
Classic highlights are placed in sections for brighter, more defined lightness, while balayage creates a soft, sun-kissed gradient. Your stylist will suggest the right technique for your hair and the look you want.
Do highlights need bleach?
Usually the selected sections are lightened so the highlights show, especially on dark hair. If you want an all-over lighter look instead, see hair bleaching.
Will my highlights turn brassy?
Toning is part of the highlight process to refine the shade. To refresh highlights that have turned yellow or orange later, book a hair toning service.
